Q: Which insurance plans does Dr. Blackburn accept?
A: Our office accepts most major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Humana, United, Tricare, GEHA, Preferred Administrators, Healthscope, PCHS and others. We are also a provider for the Affordable Health Care Act ("the exchange”). We accept Medicare for established patients or on referral. We provide obstetrical care for Medicaid patients. (Note: When checking your provider list Dr. Blackburn may be listed under Arthur Bert Blackburn, MD.)
Q: How soon can I get an appointment?
A: Routine, non-emergent appointments can usually be accommodated within a few days.
Q: How long will my appointment take?
A: Of course the length of your appointment will vary on the level of your problems. Routine annual exams will usually take no more than one hour total time in our office. New patients might be slightly longer because the doctor will personally take your medical history.
Q: Do I get to see Dr. Blackburn or a nurse practioner?
A: Dr. Blackburn works by himself and sees each new and established patient personally. This is one of the unique aspects of our office.
Q: Which hospitals does Dr. Blackburn use?
A: Dr. Blackburn delivers babies and performs major surgeries at Sierra Medical Center, Providence Memorial Hospital, and Las Palmas Medical Center. He performs outpatient surgeries, including outpatient vaginal hysterectomies, at Paso del Norte Surgical Center.
